Jaguar has filed trademarks for the names C-XE and C-XJ indicating that we might well be seeing an all new Jaguar model in the next few years.
C-XJ could well be the new name for an upcoming concept version of next years all new XJ which has been photographed undergoing testing on numerous occasions over the last few months. The XJ replacement is due to be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show.
C-XE indicates a model positioned below or near the price of the XF. Considering that Jaguar have recently stated that they wish to push the brand further up market, we strongly doubt that they will replace the X-Type with the C-XE. More likely is that once the current X-Type production run ends that will be the end of the road for the small jaguar sedan and they will finally introduce a smaller sports car to be positioned below the XK. The F-Type concept appeared way back in 2000 and ever since fans of the leaping cat have been praying that Jaguar will put this car into production.
Well, your prays may soon be answered.
