MINI’s take over Melbourne

A collection of original MINI’s were out in force in the heart of Melbourne yesterday. The cars gathered together in the morning before going on show for the day in Federation Square.

 
Highlights included this late production model MINI that, believe it or not, rolled out of the factory less than ten years ago.

The checker plate and leather lining on the upper dash is truly impressive. When new you’d have had to pay over ten times the price of the MINI to get this in another car, i.e. a Bentley.

Another beautiful example was this far earlier model complete with mesh headlight covers and leather bonnet tie down straps – see below.

Inside was a video camera professionally mounted to the roll cage, perfect for capturing that favourite piece of road.
