After months of speculation Suzuki's new A segment vehicle for Australia, after verbally announcing at the recent 2008 Australian International Motor Show in Sydney Suzuki has today confirmed the Indian sourced Alto will enter the Australian marketplace in 2009 to compete with the upcoming Chinese brands A segment vehicles.

Suzuki is the largest car manufacturer in India, the Manesar assembly plant is where the new Alto will be built. The Suzuki Alto will export to Europe, Asia and Australia.

"The Manesar car assembly plant was last year ranked among the top two Japanese subsidiaries overseas." It received the prestigious Nikkei Award, which recognises Japanese companies across diverse fields including manufacturing, electronics, mining etc., in Japan as well as their overseas subsidiaries.

The Suzuki Alto will fit in under the current Suzuki Swift and will replace any ideas of Suzuki importing the European Splash alternative sub-light car.

Expect a recommended retail price under $13,000 AUD.
