The current generation (C209) Mercedes-Benz CLK-Class has been on sale since 2002, having a facelift in 2006 and introducing an all-new generation launching in 2009. With the launch date closing in, new CLK test mules are becoming more frequently spotted undergoing development miles.
The images above spotted by automotivetraveler.com, indicate a more dynamic design than today’s car, with styling incorporated from the larger CL-Class (note the sweeping shoulder line running the length of the vehicle).
What’s less than certain for the production car is the integrated exhaust pipes shown in these images, similar to designs on the Lexus LS and upcoming all-new 7-Series. Other recent spy images show a similar car without them, so whether they appear on only certain variants is a possibility.
2009 forecasts a big year for Mercedes-Benz as the ever important E-Class will also be replaced with an all-new design.
