2010 Mercedes-Benz Gullwing - (Global)
A rendering by automotorsport.se has shown what the highly anticipated new SLC Gullwing may look like.
The Mercedes-Benz SLC Gullwing is due for the conceptual launch at the Frankfurt auto show next year. It's said that the dimension of the car will be 4.65 meters in length, 1.95 meters in width and stand 1.25 meters tall. Also, the SLC will have a wheelbase of only 2.7 meters and weigh in at just about 1,650kg to help maintain the sporty dynamics.
The power plant is said to be the hand built 6.2L V8 AMG engine, with output figures of around 580hp. A newly developed sequential transmission is also said to be thrown into the works to help provide a 0-100km/h sprint time of less than four seconds; with a top speed in the region of 300km/h.
Speculation says that a drop top variant of the SLC will also be available with a cloth retractable roof and is to be launched one year after the production model debut at the 2010 Geneva auto show.
Expect a price tag in the neighbourhood of AUD$260,000; with the drop top increasing that figure by roughly $36,000.
