have shown renderings of the future 2010 Acura NSX and mentioned a few possible details.
It’s said that the NSX will be priced around the USD$160,000 mark and set to compete against the likes of the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Maserati Gran Turismo and Jaguar XKR.
The NSX will be fitted with a 5.5-liter V10, producing in excess of 600hp and 433 lb.-ft of torque. The newly designed V10 can deactivate five cylinders to reduce fuel usage when highway cruising. An advance six-speed dual-clutch transmission will be fitted to the vehicle along with Honda's Super Handling AWD system which will be tuned specifically for the NSX. From a design point of view, the sleek aerodynamic body acts as a giant spoiler, producing immense amounts of down-force in order to promote vehicle stability and high speed cornering.
With the final weigh-in coming to 3256lb, it seems that the NSX will have to work hard to put up a fight against the 550lb lighter Nissan GT-R. Saying this, a sub 7min 30sec time is still expected from the F1 inspired NSX around the Nürburgring.
