2009 Toyota RAV4 Accessories Upgrade

The newly upgraded Toyota RAV4 comes with increased safety technology and also boasts a new range of accessories for both safety and convenience.

Toyota Australia has introduced a tyre pressure-monitoring system that displays the temperature and pressure of all tyres in easy view of the driver.

RAV4 drivers will never need to guess when each of the five tyres (including the spare) need air, and will know if a puncture is sustained while driving, preventing serious damage from happening to the vehicle.

The sophisticated and compact device uses wireless technology to receive data from small sensors fitted inside each wheel.

Mounted on the dash for easy reference, the device can be programmed to alert drivers to low tyre pressure, tyre overheating and when the sensor batteries require replacement.

Matthew Callachor, divisional manager of Toyota Australia's Customer Service Division, says the tyre pressure monitoring system is a handy accessory for RAV4 owners, who are often outdoor people travelling significant distances.

"Good tyre condition is very important for safe driving and the Toyota Genuine tyre pressure-monitoring system now helps to keep drivers aware of the status of all their tyres all the time".

Another Toyota Genuine accessory offering increased awareness and convenience is a new rear view camera that projects the view at the rear of the vehicle onto an electrochromatic rear view mirror, which features a mini LCD screen when activated. Alternatively, it can be viewed via the Toyota Genuine satellite navigation and audio system (if fitted).

For extra safety and confidence when reversing the rear view camera provides drivers a clear visual picture of what would be out of the line-of-sight when using a conventional rear view mirror.

RAV4 owners will benefit from even greater awareness when parking with the new ParkAssist** clearance parking sensors.

Combining ParkAssist with the rear view camera can ease some of the stress associated with parking and reversing as the technologies work in parallel to help drivers avoid hitting objects while concentrating on tricky manoeuvres.

RAV4 is covered by Toyota Service Advantage*, Toyota's low-cost, capped-price standard vehicle servicing.
