2009 Updated Barina - 4 Out of 5 ANCAP Stars - (Australia)
November 6th, 2008
The Holden Barina recently had a makeover and got its mid-life facelift in August 2008, where it received added safety features to raise - or rather double - the ANCAP safety rating for the light car.
The current TK Barina released in 2005 and was tested at the time and received an ANCAP safety rating of 2 stars, one of the lowest in its segment. GM Holden has announced that the latest tests for the upgraded Barina achieved a 4 star rating as a result of the structural improvements, and the addition of side impact airbags as standard across the updated hatchback range.
"There has been a very positive response to the new Barina's styling and this announcement confirms the effectiveness of our various safety improvements," said Mr Alan Batey, GM Holden Executive Director - Sales, Marketing and Aftersales.
PressPortal will be reviewing the updated Barina in the near future.
