Ssangyong Actyon - Technical - (Australia)

April 18th, 2007

FEATURE PACKED ACTYON OFFERS A COMPLETE FEATURE RICH PACKAGE

Actyon delivers a distinctive cross over SUV with fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines, switch-able four-wheel drive and a suspension and safety package to rival many passenger cars.

The Actyon offers a choice of both petrol and diesel power plants and is available only in four wheel drive in two different trim levels, Standard and Limited.

The petrol engine is a European designed 2.3 litre, naturally aspirated twin cam four cylinder, with 110kW of power and 214Nm of torque.

The two-litre common rail diesel engine, shared with the Actyon Sports, generates 104kW of power and 310Nm of torque.

The 1600 bar common rail injection pressure and variable geometry turbocharger combine to provide the peak torque at a low 1800rpm.

The Actyon Sports utilises exhaust gas recirculation to satisfy the latest Euro IV emission regulations and returns a combined cycle fuel consumption of 8.1L per 100km, which is 12 percent lower than the Musso Sports.

The Actyon shares much of the driveline with the Actyon Sports, with the exception of the rear propeller shaft, which is 320mm shorter to account for the reduced wheel base.

A five-speed manual transmission is standard in all models, with the option of the Australian made four-speed automatic and cruise control.

The part-time four wheel drive system allows 'on the fly' switching from two wheel drive to either high or low range four wheel drive, again with a low range reduction of 2.48:1. This, in combination with the short bumper overhang's, gives the Actyon tremendous off-road capability.

Disc brakes are standard all round, as are anti-lock brakes and electronic brake-force distribution.

All Actyon variants are fitted with 18-inch alloy wheels.

In terms of safety the Actyon comes equipped with front passenger and driver's SRS airbags as standard across the range with side curtain airbags for front and rear passengers standard in the Limited model. Lap-sash seatbelts are provided for all occupants - including the centre rear seat.

An engine immobiliser, alarm and keyless entry with in-built panic alarm is standard enhancing vehicle security.

The standard equipment list is extensive, featuring front and rear fog lamps and reverse parking sensors, electric windows, power mirrors, cloth seat trim and leather bound steering wheel with remote controls for the six speaker AMFM/CD/MP3 Audio.

Air conditioning is standard across the range with manual controls in the standard trim and climate control on Limited models.

The range-topping Limited gains further safety features with the latest generation Electronic Stability Program (ESP), electrically adjustable front seats with leather trim and seat warmers, electric sunroof and numerous automated driver controls.

ASP is a major safety boost integrating a range of driver assistance software to help keep a driver on the road and out of trouble particularly in challenging and slippery conditions.

The Actyon is supported by an extensive range of genuine accessories including polished alloy nudge bar, side steps and a stylish roof mounted spoiler.

A derivative of the hidden track mounted roof rack system designed for the Actyon Sports is also available as an accessory for the Actyon.

The 2300kg towing capacity is supported by the factory developed concealed tow bar pack, and as with all SsangYong tow bars the package includes a plug and play wiring harness and tow ball.

Inside the vehicle, Bluetooth hands-free mobile phone kit, leather seat trim and a choice of rubber or carpet mats are all available as optional accessories.
