SsangYong has launched a facelift version of its Stavic people mover featuring cleaner styling, revised engine mapping for better driveability and lower fuel consumption, as well as a switch to diesel power across the range.
The new Euro IV SsangYong Stavic uses some of the design cues from the redesign of the Kyron and Rexton to produce a cleaner, simpler, more sophisticated look and sees adoption of a similar chrome grille that extends the SsangYong styling theme across the range.
However the improvements to Euro IV Stavic are not just cosmetic, with better fuel economy and cleaner exhaust emissions as a result of revised engine mapping delivering a power plant that complies with the latest Euro IV requirements.
At the same time the Stavic model line-up and specifications have been revised and simplified.
Euro IV Stavic will now be available only with a common rail turbocharged diesel engine, with the phasing out of the 3.2 litre petrol engine from the range. The engine drives through either a five speed manual or a five speed electronically controlled automatic transmission.
The Stavic will continue to be available in either two or four wheel drive with a choice of either Sports or Limited specification level.
According to SsangYong's general manager sales and marketing, Brad Larkham, the new Euro IV Stavic is a major improvement on the first generation model it replaces.
"The new Euro IV Stavic boasts cleaner styling while improving on many of the features that make the Stavic such a great value proposition in the people mover market," said Brad Larkham.
"It retains its enormous practicality, economy, and roominess while also benefiting from SsangYong's recent price repositioning," he said.
Exterior styling has been improved with an all new front bumper fascia, front grille and, on the Sports model, a moulded nudge bar while at the rear the Stavic benefits from a redesigned rear spoiler with integrated LED stop light, and roof rails are standard on all models.
New 16 inch five spoke alloys feature as standard on the range-topping Limited while 16 inch steel wheels with wheel covers are standard on the Sports model.
On the inside the Euro IV Stavic is now fitted with the Rexton II type steering wheel with integrated T-Tronic gear shift controls for easier shifting and better ergonomics.
Climate Control air conditioning with ducted rear zone and separate controls is standard on both Limited and Sport Stavic, highlighting an impressive standard equipment list on the SsangYong people mover
The Stavic is Australia's best selling diesel powered people mover offering enormous interior space and seating for seven in comfort along with the best value in its class starting from just $32,990.
All new SsangYong vehicles sold in Australia come with the peace-of-mind afforded by a 3 year/100,000 kilometre factory warranty with SsangYong Assist 24/7 roadside assistance.
