Škoda UK today announced pricing for the all-new Superb.  With a starting price of £15,490, the new Superb represents fantastic value for money.  Customers will enjoy unrivalled levels of specification, no matter which of the three trim levels they choose.

Trim levels will be comprised of S, SE and Elegance, marking a shift away from the badging of other Škoda models.  Each specification level provides customers with high levels of standard equipment valued between £1,500 and £2,000 more than the step in price between spec levels.

The complete list of prices and equipment follows at the end of this release.  Highlights of specification for each level includes:

  • 18” ‘Themisto’ alloy wheels
  • 4 spoke leather multi-function steering wheel (radio and telephone)

These features and more make the new Superb one of the best equipped cars in the upper-medium sector.  In addition to offering customers these very high levels of standard specification, the pricing is very competitive against the mainstream competition.

The Superb engine line-up is a comprehensive mix of petrol and diesel units that cater for the needs of every type of customer.  These include the new 1.4 TSI petrol engine that offers an outstanding combination of greater fuel economy and low CO2 emissions while delivering 125bhp in a smaller, lighter engine than previously offered.

In addition, for the first time on Superb, there is a new CR (Common Rail) diesel engine with 170 bhp, a winning combination of great fuel economy, low CO2 emission and smooth diesel performance.

Also on offer are DSG gearboxes, with a six-speed DSG standard on the 3.6 V6 (at 260 bhp, it is the most powerful road-going vehicle Škoda has produced to date), and optional with the 2.0 TDI engines.  For the first time, Škoda will offer a new seven-speed DSG gearbox with the 1.8 TSI engine.

The new Superb offers class-leading interior space, with more rear leg room than even an S-class Mercedes.  Not only is the space for driver and passengers enormous, the boot volume of 565 litres (with rear seats up) is class leading.

Adding to the appeal of the new Superb is Twindoor, designed and patented by Škoda engineers and unique to Škoda.  At the touch of a button, Twindoor enables Superb to be either a hatch or a saloon, thereby suiting the needs of a wider range of customers.

A large number of safety features are standard on the new Superb.  All models have seven airbags:  driver and passenger front and side airbags, curtain airbags and a driver’s knee airbag; ESP is standard across the range.  This has helped Superb achieve five stars in EuroNCAP testing for driver and occupant protection.

Robert Hazelwood, Škoda UK Brand Director sums up the new Superb this way.  “The Superb offers Škoda’s trademark value for money, interior spaciousness and engineering solutions designed with customers’ needs in mind in a fantastic package.  Beautifully designed both inside and out, the new Superb will make a great choice for retail and fleet buyers.

“In today’s economic climate where value is king, the Superb offers a mainstream car that delivers value in every way.  When I look at the pricing and equipment compared to Superb’s competition, I am especially pleased.  It’s the right car for today’s challenges and will underscore yet again that Škoda is, indeed, the manufacturer of happy drivers.”
