Green Water, Green Car - (Global)

The world renowned FIJI Water chose Hyundai’s i30 to provide the transport during their recent launch of the world’s first carbon negative bottled water.

The breakfast event held in Sydney incorporated a presentation of FIJI Water’s environmental initiatives to key lifestyle and environmental journalists, chauffeured in award-winning and eco-friendly Hyundai i30 CRDi turbo Diesel cars to and from the venue.

The aligning of these two popular products underlines a shift towards purchasing goods which have a lower impact on the environment. The Hyundai i30 CRDi was the obvious choice for transportation at our event due to its impressive green credentials.

Like Fiji Water, Hyundai is working positively towards protecting our environment. The i30 CRDi is winner of two highly acclaimed automotive green awards – Carsguide’s ‘Green Car of the Year’ 2007 and ECOCAR’s ‘Best Small Car’ 2008.

Thanks to a range of initiatives, every 500 ml bottle of FIJI Water removes 60 grams of CO2 from the earth’s atmosphere, which is equivalent to turning off the lights before you leave home for the day.In 2008, FIJI Water expects to achieve a net reduction of over 20,000 tonnes of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is equivalent to taking over 3,500 passenger vehicles off the road or planting over 500,000 trees.

“It was great to be involved in FIJI Water’s environmental launch event,” Hyundai’s General Manager of Marketing, Oliver Mann said. “Both Hyundai and FIJI Water have demonstrated a passion for offering quality products whilst reducing their impact on the environment.”
