Efficient Power and Performance for Triathlon Series

February 20th, 2008

BMW will showcase its EfficientDynamics philosophy – the art of maximising driving pleasure whilst minimising fuel consumption – throughout this year’s nationwide Corporate Triathlon Series, which begins next month.

“Every athlete knows that achieving your best relies on the most efficient use of power and performance,” said Tom Noble, General Manager Marketing, BMW Group Australia.

“Likewise at the heart of every BMW is our commitment to extracting maximum driving pleasure from a minimum of fuel, while reducing CO2 emissions.
“It’s about exhilaration without excess.

“That’s why we’re delighted to be supporting the 2008 BP Ultimate/BRW Corporate Triathlon Series for the fourth year in a row,” he said.

The Corporate Triathlon Series is held across five Australian cities between March and April, attracting over 15,000 participants and 40,000 spectators.

BMW will communicate its EfficientDynamics philosophy during the series with events in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and the Gold Coast.

Even before the triathlon series kicks off, BMW offered participants the chance to win one of three Ultimate BMW Triathlon team packages valued at $3,000. The package includes transfers to and from the event in a BMW X3, a BMW Cruise bike for the team, hospitality, as well as training and competition outfits.

A range of BMW’s highly efficient diesel models will be on display at each event highlighting the tangible benefits of EfficientDynamics, including the 120d, 530d and X3 2.0d. For example, the 120d uses only 6.1 litres per 100 kilometres on the combined cycle and emits just 162 grams of CO2 per kilometres. In addition each participant will receive a triathlon show bag including a BMW EfficientDynamics drink bottle.
