Following on from last months shock resignation of Ford Australia’s President and CEO Bill Osborne, who has decided to take up a role outside of the auto industry, comes the announcement that his replacement has been found.

Succeeding him will be Australian Marin Burela, his position effective from the 1st of October.  Burela, who joined Ford Australia nearly 25 years ago as an engineering graduate will shortly leave his current position as Vehicle Line Executive Director, Global Small Cars, based in Europe to relocate to Ford Australia’s Melbourne offices.

Burela has served in a variety of Ford senior management positions in Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, and Product Development, in Asia, Europe and North America. These included a number of senior management roles at Ford of Australia, where he was last based in 1998.  In addition to his roles at Ford Motor Company, Burela has held senior management positions at Jaguar and Land Rover.
