Kia Motors Australia appoints new President and CEO - (Australia)

Kia Motors Australia has announced the appointment of Mr SK Lee as the company's President and Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Lee has more than 27 years' experience in the automotive industry, first with the Hyundai Motor Company and since 2006 with Kia Motors Corporation.

Prior to being appointed as President and CEO of Kia Motors Australia, Mr Lee was senior vice president in charge of KMC's Export Marketing Group in Seoul following a period as senior vice president for the global Marketing Division of Hyundai and Kia.

During his earlier career with Hyundai, Mr Lee worked extensively within the company's Export Operations Division. From 1987-1992, he worked with Hyundai Auto Canada in Toronto and Vancouver before returning to Korea as general manager of the Asia-Pacific team from 1993-1998.

From 1999-2001, Mr Lee was managing director of Hyundai's Central and South American operations based in Miami, Florida. He was then appointed as CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada from 2001-2003 before assuming the position of director of marketing for North American, Asia-Pacific and Central and South American markets.

Mr Lee takes over the chief executive officer role at KMAu from Mr MK Kim who has been appointed as
Co-ordinating Director for Sales and Marketing within KMAu.
