Volvo Announces Pricing For All- New V70 T6

February 29th, 2008

Volvo's all-new V70 sportwagon will be launched onto an expectant Australian market by mid-March.

The sleek and smart five-door station wagon is a technological tour d'force, a harmonious blend of high performance, versatility, style, agility and convenience, all wrapped up in Volvo's industry-leading safety.

Priced at $67,950, the new V70 now offers a turbo-charged six-cylinder three-litre engine that delivers a creamy 210kW - and more importantly, for a load-carrying vehicle - a surging 400Nm of torque.

Although it's a full-sized five-door wagon, that power, coupled with a 6-speed Geartronic transmission and all-wheel drive, will see the V70 sprinting to 100 km/h in just 7.2 seconds - the sort of performance usually reserved for so-called "sports cars".

The V70 is designed to be as versatile as possible, offering features that will appeal to a broad spread of owners - a variety of load-carrying capabilities, sporty driving dynamics and the traditional high levels of convenience technology, luxury and safety which motorists have come to expect from Volvo.

Styling is important too, and from its handsome 18" alloy wheels to its sleek profile, the V70 is unmistakably European, unquestionably Scandinavian and unerringly elegant.

With a high level of standard specification including Volvo's active chassis system, Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept (FOUR-C) - developed in collaboration with Swedish racing company Ohlins Racing AB - Premium Sound 12-speaker system, Interior Air Quality System, front/rear park assist, rain-sensor wipers, auto- dimmed rear-view mirror and self-opening tailgate, the new V70 represents exceptional value for money in the premium sportwagon segment Volvo's Personal Car Communicator, a pocket-sized personal security control, which provides information about the car's lock and alarm status - even if the owner is up to 100 metres away - will also be a standard feature of the V70.

Needless to say the V70 also comes with a full array of active and passive safety features as standard, including Dynamic Stability & Traction Control (DSTC), Emergency Brake Lights (EBL) which flash when activated to warn other drivers in the event of emergency braking, Volvo's Whiplash Protection System (WIPS), Side Impact Protection System (SIPS) and even adjustable child booster seats to ensure smaller members of the Volvo family are afforded the very best protection.
