The Kia stand at the 2008 Melbourne International Motor Show will also offer Melbourne audiences the first chance to see the forthcoming Rondo7, an 'Urban Recreation Vehicle' targeted firmly at a new segment gaining traction in the Australian car market - the 'crossover'.
'Crossover' vehicles can be part-SUV, part-MPV, part-wagon and part-hatch and they are ideal for people entering new stages in their lives who want a new vehicle to match their changing needs.
"Rondo7 is a new approach to the crossover segment. No other vehicle has quite the same configuration of seats, doors and body style," said Mr SK Lee, President and CEO of Kia Motors Australia. "It combines the benefits of four conventional segments in one package - the Urban Recreation Vehicle."
Rondo7 delivers a high ride height, good visibility, functionality and adaptability, matched by individual looks and style in a compact and manoeuverable body shape. It will offer good fuel efficiency and a safety equipment package that competes with the features found in many SUVs.
"The new Rondo7 has easy 7-seat flexibility with third row legroom for real people in a spacious, airy and well-equipped passenger compartment," said Mr Lee. "At an entry price of just $24,990, the Rondo7 will be the best priced 7-seat vehicle in Australia.
"When Rondo7 comes to the Australian market in May, armed with Kia's new 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, it will offer a great package at a great price. It will continue to not only redefine the Kia brand, but also set the benchmark for the new crossover segment."
