BMW Announces 1 Series Coupé Pricing in Brisbane

February 1st, 2008

BMW is pleased to announce pricing for the forthcoming arrival of the all-new 1 Series Coupé range.

Following the Australian debut today of the 135i Sport in Brisbane, BMW confirmed the line-up will also include a new 3.0-litre in-line 6-cylinder engine which will power the 125i. Both variants will arrive in showrooms from May.

The 135i Sport features the world’s best engine, as acclaimed by a panel of eminent judges at the 2007 ‘International Engine of the Year Awards’ (or the ‘Engine Oscars’ as they are known colloquially).

The compact and sporty 135i Sport is power-packed in its Twin Turbo, 225 kW straight-six guise, delivering sublime performance, smoothness and economy.

With the 3.0-litre twin turbo engine BMW has conquered the previously incompatible functions of rapid fire acceleration and impressive economy and low emissions.

The new BMW 135i Sport will sling-shot to 100 km/h from standstill in just 5.3 seconds, making full use of the 400 Nm of torque available between 1,300 rpm and 5,000 rpm. This multi-award winning engine is also found throughout the 3 Series range, in the 335i Sedan, Coupé, Convertible and most recently the new 335i Touring.

The new 1 Series Coupé model line-up will also include the 125i, delivering a punchy 160 kW of power, and featuring an all-new 3.0-litre VALVETRONIC engine. This in-line 6-cylinder engine, with 270Nm of torque on tap, moves the 125i from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

A full list of standard specification will be released closer to the local arrival of the 1 Series Coupé range.

Pricing for 1 Series Coupé Range:
125i with 6-speed manual transmission $54,400
125i with 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission $57,200
135i Sport with 6-speed manual transmission $71,400
135i Sport with 6-speed Steptronic automatic transmission $74,200
