It’s been a while since we heard rumours regarding the speculated baby BMW Z2 roadster. UK magazine AutoCar featured a story way back in its 19th April 2005 edition and even across the Atlantic, American magazine Car and Driver speculated on the car back in October 2006.
Now AutoZeitung are saying that the BMW board will decide shortly whether to give the go ahead to build the car. All going well, it would be late 2012 at the earliest before BMW’s attempt at dethroning the evergreen Mazda MX-5 hits the road.
The new car is speculated to be built on the current 1-Series platform and be powered by a range of four-cylinder engines, including a turbocharged variant.
We’d like to hear your feedback on whether you think BMW should manufacture the Z2.
