Overlander Awards Jeep® With Best Off-Road Vehicle For 2008 - (Australia)
July 24th, 2008
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon has been awarded Best Off-Road Vehicle for 2008 by Overlander magazine in the recent ‘Best 4WD In Each Class Award’.
In its fifth year, this award differs from the annual Overlander 4WD of the year award and is designed to recognise the best vehicle in each four wheel drive category.
“Available in both short wheelbase two-door and long wheelbase four-door (Unlimited) models, the pick for pure off roading is the shortie thanks to its superior ramp-over clearance. The Unlimited model is still however extremely capable off road and the extra seat, doors and space brings added practicality for everyday use” said the team at Overlander magazine.
Since its release, the latest Jeep Wrangler has stirred the emotions of all off-road enthusiasts and none more so than the Rubicon variant.
“The Rubicon’s off road secret is that it’s already chock full of the sort of specialist off road kit you expect to find in a catalogue of hardcore aftermarket 4WD equipment” said Overlander.
Other Jeep models to receive an honourable mention were the Grand Cherokee CRD for Best Medium Diesel Wagon and Grand Cherokee V8 for Best Medium Petrol Wagon.
Overlander 4WD is Australia’s original 4WD magazine having been in publication for more than 30 years. Overlander’s 4WD Awards have been running since 2004
