Hyundai Drives 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards Celebration Lunch in Sydney

February 12th, 2008

Hyundai, official automotive sponsor of the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards celebration lunch in Sydney, today got the party started by escorting VIP celebrities and music and entertainment industry insiders to the official lunch in a range of Hyundai’s stylish and award-winning vehicles.

To kick start the event, the elegant Hyundai Grandeur and sleek and sexy Hyundai Tiburon transported celebrities to the red carpet in style, including NOVA 96.9FM personalities Merrick & Rosso and Kate Ritchie, along with resident Fox 8 fashionistas Charlotte Dawson and Jonathon Pease. The new and spacious Hyundai iMax shuttle also delivered larger groups to this once-in-a-lifetime party to rave reviews.

In a world first, the 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards – the most respected and anticipated music awards ceremony in the world – will be watched live via satellite, overlooking the iconic Sydney Harbour at the Crystal Palace in Luna Park, Sydney.

“Hyundai’s involvement in the GRAMMY Awards celebration lunch demonstrates a commitment to the integration of music technology and motoring. We’re thrilled to be associated with this world-first event by transporting all of the VIPs to this exclusive event in style and boosting excitement on the red carpet,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia’s, Corporate Communications and Media Manager, Tiffanny Junee.

Hyundai’s commitment to music is evident in the award-winning i30, which personalises every driving experience with leading edge technology that includes an iPod dock managed via radio controls on the dash and steering wheel. USB memory sticks also come as standard, which allow owners to download three free music tracks, courtesy of Hyundai and Sony BMG. Chart-topping singles by artists like Rhianna and Gwen Stefani – who both performed at this year’s awards – can be downloaded from the i30 website.

Hyundai recruited Channel V’s ‘Cash Cab’ host, James Kerley, to chat to celebrities after their ride to the red carpet. Well known in the Australian music industry, Kerley understands Hyundai’s desire to couple music with wheels given his music trivia show is conducted in a taxi and was a suitable interviewer for the A-list music guests.

GRAMMY Awards celebration invitee, Amy Pearson, was impressed with the Hyundai vehicle she arrived in today. “I really enjoyed my Hyundai experience this morning. The Grandeur that collected me was very sleek and sexy. It’s a cute ride which I can see my self in cruising in from the shops to the beach in comfort.”
