Honda Australia, which provides Australia’s top-selling hybrid vehicle to the private sector, the Honda Civic Hybrid has welcomed an announcement by the WA Government that it would introduce a “Clean, Green Car Rebate” of $250 per annum.

Honda Australia’s Managing Director Mr Yasuhide Mizuno said that the company welcomed any initiative which promoted sustainability and helped make hybrids more affordable.

“The Honda Civic Hybrid is already Australia’s most affordable hybrid and this promise of a rebate of $1,000 over four years should prove attractive to people looking to make an environmentally sound motor vehicle purchase,” Mr Mizuno said.

“We would hope which ever party is elected in Western Australia this weekend would see the wisdom of delivering this policy and that other Australian State Governments could consider similar initiatives.”

In June this year for the first time, the Honda Civic Hybrid became the top-selling hybrid in the private sector. So far this year, Honda has sold more than 600 Civic Hybrids in Australia.

Priced at $32,990, the Honda Civic Hybrid, which also carries Honda’s unique Climate Care Warranty, is almost $5,000 cheaper than the Toyota Prius. Honda’s Climate Care Warranty sees 18 trees planted over three years to help offset emissions*.
